Tim Matthews is a member of Spencer Stuart’s global Healthcare and Medical Technology practices, based in Los Angeles. His work spans medical devices, diagnostics and tools, digital health and distribution. He specializes in senior-level executive recruitment across a broad range of functions with a successful track record of recruiting board directors, chief executive officers, division presidents, general managers, senior vice and vice presidents in sales, marketing, operations and corporate development. Tim enjoys working with a broad range of global clients from early-stage disruptor to multinational, high-growth venture-backed firms and numerous private equity portfolio companies in North America.

With more than 20 years of strategic sales management experience in the medical device space, Tim built his career around developing formidable teams and customer-focused initiatives that lead to sustained revenue growth.

  • Before joining Spencer Stuart, Tim was a commercial leader for Intuitive Surgical, where he developed sales and corporate account teams leading to sustained revenue growth across the western region of the United States.
  • Previously, Tim was the southwest regional manager for Mindray North America (formerly Datascope), where he won multiple company awards, including top sales professional. Earlier, he spent several years as a senior sales specialist and field trainer with Eli Lilly and Company.

Tim earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from the University of New Mexico.
