Based in Spencer Stuart’s Beijing office, Ken Qi is a member of the firm’s global Technology, Media & Telecommunications Practice in China and throughout Asia Pacific , with a particular focus on the internet and digital sectors. In addition, Ken also assists local Chinese private enterprises with their leadership needs. He brings 20 years of leading sales and operational organizations in China for multinational companies and nearly 12 years of management expertise to his assignments.
Technology industry veteran with deep management expertise
- Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Ken was the North China general manager of SAP, where he led a $100 million license revenue business and an 80-person sales team working with both state-owned enterprise and private-owned enterprise clients. He was also selected to serve on the company’s global executive leadership team.
- Ken served as the head of national strategic accounts and public sector group for Cisco China and materially improved the business during his tenure, including leading a turnaround in the public sector group that achieved double-digit growth and helping transform their traditional go-to-market into an architect, solution and service approach.
- Prior to Cisco, Ken held various sales leadership roles for multinational technology businesses in China, including general manager of sales in Microsoft’s public sector group and director of process manufacturing and service industry for Greater China at Oracle China, where he helped many local private companies to re-engineer their business processes with modern ERP best practices, especially in retail, consumer packaged goods and logistics industries.
Ken holds double bachelor’s degrees, one in international trade and the other in mechanical engineering, with a computer science minor from Beijing Polytechnic University. He speaks Mandarin and English.
