Based in London, Salvatore Cavallaro is member of Spencer Stuart’s global Financial Services Practice, with a focus on insurance and insurtech. He brings more than 20 years of global experience in the insurance and banking sectors to his senior-level client work.
Deep expertise in financial services
Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Salvatore advised private equity firms operating in the insurtech, fintech and e-mobility sectors.
Earlier, Salvatore served as global head of market management for general insurance at Zurich Insurance Group, where he led the customer marketing, digital transformation, product innovation and broker management activities for the personal lines, commercial lines and global corporations customer segments globally. He joined Zurich Insurance in 2012 as deputy head of the customer office, where he pushed profitable growth and accelerated customer centricity as per Zurich’s strategy.
Before that, Salvatore was at GE Capital, where he held senior roles in sales and marketing, lean six sigma, pricing and corporate strategy, as well as having responsibility for GE’s electric vehicles fleet leasing business for the EMEA region. In 1999, he joined GE’s internal auditing and consulting group, charged with assignments in several GE entities in the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. He began his career at GE in the US in 1998 as member of the company’s commercial leadership program.
Salvatore has a MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Università di Parma in Italy and an MBA from London Business School in the UK. He has lived and worked in the US, UK, Italy, Switzerland, France and Germany in addition to completing assignments in the Asia Pacific region. Salvatore is fluent in English, French and Italian with a proficient knowledge of Spanish and German.
