Murillo Tavares is Spencer Stuart’s country manager for Mexico. He leads the Consumer Practice and the Supply Chain Practice in Latin America. He is also responsible for the Private Equity Practice in Mexico.
Experienced adviser to leaders in transformation processes
- Before Spencer Stuart, Murillo had 13 years of experience in the beverage industry in Brazil, Mexico and China. In this capacity he directed operational turnarounds, post-merger integrations and growth strategies. He also managed the second largest c-store chain in Mexico.
- In early 2000’s Murillo led the startup and consolidation of one of the earliest successful e-commerce companies in Latin America. Since its IPO, he has been an angel investor and mentor to leaders of several innovative companies in the region. He advises top private equity and venture capital firms within the region about disruptive business models.
- Murillo started his career at McKinsey & Company, serving industrial and consumer companies in Brazil and Spain for almost seven years.
Murillo has a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering from the Brazilian Aeronautics Technological Institute and a M.S. in Management from MIT Sloan School of Management, with a concentration in strategy, innovation and operations. A native Portuguese speaker, Murillo is also fluent in Spanish and English.
