For over 25 years, Ruth has helped organizations and their executives realize strategy through their leadership, talent and culture. Ruth brings deep experience in executive assessment, executive coaching and top team effectiveness to make sustainable changes that enhance their impact and accelerate performance.

  • Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Ruth was the global managing director of the leadership and talent practice and member of the global executive team at Hay Group, an international consulting firm. During her tenure, Hay Group was recognized as the top leadership development consulting firm by the Kennedy Report.
  • Throughout her career, Ruth has worked with academic thought leaders in the areas of leadership, behavior change and team effectiveness including David McClelland, Ph.D., Daniel Goleman, Ph.D., Richard Boyatzis, Ph.D. and Richard Hackman, Ph.D.
  • A recognized leadership expert, she has published articles on the topic including “Leadership Run Amok: The Destructive Potential of Overachievers,” cited as one the most popular articles in Harvard Business Review (HBR).
  • Ruth specializes in helping women and diverse leaders from under-represented groups advance their careers and maximize their impact. She has published and presented on the topic, including her TEDx talk “From Leaning In, to All In: What Organizations Can Do to Advance Women”.

Ruth earned her B.A. from Vassar College and M.A., Ph.D. from Boston University. She is a member of the American Psychological Association and Consortium for Research on Emotional Intelligence in Organizations.
